How Tesla Energy Tracker works
The service uses Tesla's official authorization flow to request access to compatible energy products. You remain in control of the connection and can disconnect at any time.
1. Connect with Tesla
Select Connect Tesla account. Your browser is sent to Tesla, where you sign in and approve the requested energy-device access. Tesla Energy Tracker never receives your Tesla password.
2. Choose an energy product
After authorization, the application asks Tesla for the energy products available to your account. Choose the site you want to review when more than one product is available.
3. Review current status
The dashboard displays current solar production, home consumption, grid flow, battery flow, and Powerwall charge percentage when those values are available.
4. Select a report
- Energy: solar generation, home consumption, grid imports and exports, and battery charging or discharging.
- Backup events: grid-outage event times and durations.
- Wall Connector charging: charging sessions, duration, and energy added.
- Site information: configuration and component details made available for the selected site.
- Product: identifiers, resource type, and other product-level details Tesla returns for the selected product.
5. Choose PDF, CSV, or JSON
PDF reports are formatted for reading and printing. CSV files are intended for spreadsheets and analysis. JSON preserves Tesla's structured response for technical use.
Periods and date ranges
Period reports use Tesla's Day, Week, Month, Year, or Lifetime choices. Date-range reports use the dates you select. Longer Energy reports summarize frequent readings into daily or monthly totals to keep reports useful.
Disconnect and delete the session
Select Disconnect to remove the encrypted server session associated with your browser. You may also revoke third-party application access through your Tesla account. See the Data Deletion instructions.
